Frankston has just dropped an eight month line up of energetic outdoor music festivals and events and we guarantee you haven’t been to them all.

Gearing up for the sunset and cocktail season, Frankston will soon become your event capital delivering the finest in cultural activities, live bands, stage shows, fireworks, pop up golf courses, fabulous food, street art, twilight markets, pet events and more between now and May 2023.

To kick of your season, make Sunset Twilight Markets your monthly hangout until April. Bring the kids, peruse the market and settle in for sunset and cocktail hour. These balmy waterfront nights make the best memories and are perfect to capture a classic bayside silhouette photo. Click here for more info!

You beauty she's back! Monthly on a Saturday morning, 9am-2pm you can meander lake side around Beauty Park at Little Beauty Market A place where over 100 makers and creators meet to showcase a range of fresh produce, homemade good, arts, crafts, design and food. One of the best spots for morning coffee, for the kids to play on the playground and you can even bring the pooch on a lead. More info!

A waterfront golf course. Yep you heard right. For the first time, Frankston is going to be home to Pixar Putt. Think 18 holes, 30+ days, Frankston Waterfront, all summer long. From 16 December - 29 January this will be your new and exciting pop up mini-golf course, featuring holes inspired by the stories, characters and icons from some of Pixar's most beloved films including Toy Story, Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles – you will have to check it out to see all of the characters which are coming to town. Returning in 2023, the Waterfront Festival now in its 24th year, will fill one of your February weekends (Saturday 18 and Sunday 19) with fine food and wine, live music, and cultural activities on a grassy (or a sandy) knoll by the bay. Daytime into dusk, let this local favourite unite the entire family with endless beach fun in the sun. No need to pre-book, just rock up for a drink, bay-side vibes and a waterfront fireworks show (on the Saturday night). More info!

If you‘re a film lover, watching some of the best Australian short films outdoors on beautiful grounds is sure to be something you want to be a part of. Stellar Short Film Festival boasts a marvellous mix of film, food and beverages, art and entertainment. Mosey through the bushland and enjoy an afternoon of outdoor art, a live music set and laying back on the lawns before settling in for the film festival as the sun sets. The line-up of Australian short films has been shortlisted from the winners of over 75 film fests around the country. Pretty cool! Saturday, 4 March, McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery, Langwarrin. Tickets are on sale now.

So there’s Country music, but have you ever heard it by the bay? Introducing Country by the Bay, making a debut in Frankston, the classic combo of country music at the Frankston Waterfront won’t want to be missed. The line-up of artists for this festival has just been announced including Adam Brand, The Wolfe Brothers, Gretta Ziller and many more. 4-5 March. Tickets on sale now!

It will all be about the weeklong festivities during Big Picture Fest 20-26 March. Prepare to see anavalanche of colour that for the sixth year will transform Frankston City’s skyline. If you have an appreciation for art, colour, drawing and history Big Picture Fest allows opportunity to experience this by participating in a national award-winning street art walking tour. The festival culminates in the Block Party, a celebration held on the evening of Friday 24 March, where the family can attend for a bite to eat, live entertainment and the first opportunity to see all new and completed artworks. 

A new date has been set for a celebration of our most-loved family members; Saturday 29 April. Scales? Feathers? Fur? All our friends are all welcome to Pets’ Day Out. Expect camel rides, markets, food, animal flips and tricks and plenty of fun for the entire family! And don’t worry it’s just as fun without a pet as you check out the crazy, snazzy, creative pet costumers and random dog breeds. Sign up now for a reminder and more info!

Year two of the south side’s cultural extravaganza is back; South Side Festival! Think lights, dance, laughs in a week long line up of cheeky cabaret, culture performance, immersive light installations and stage shows. This sell out block buster is one not-to-be-missed so book a time to journey to the south side to experience it! Stay tuned!

So, there you have it. Ten of the hottest events in town to keep you coming back again and again. All of these events coupled with a national award-winning street art walking tour, a live show at the Frankston Arts Centre, a trip along the Beer and Spirits Trail, you’re not going to be able to leave this award-winning top tourism town for very long, if at all!
