 Eeny MeenyArtist and Animator: Tom Eglington
Tom Eglington is a multi-discipline writer and artist. He is known for his work on 2000AD, having written numerous scripts for Judge Dredd, as well as creating folk horror hit, Thistlebone, and eco sci-fi series, Blunt. He is the author of two children’s novels, The Spellbound Hotel and The Stolen City. As an illustrator, his work has been featured by Spoke Art, Vice Press, Illustrated Mind and Eyejack. He has worked as a papercut artist, creating unique themed lanterns for group shows in New York and Los Angeles.

Sound Designer: Rich Bessell
arrBee Sound was founded by Richard Bessell, a multi-instrumentalist musician trained in audio engineering, mixing and sound design. After studying a Bachelors Degree in Music he went on to play and record for several artists across Sydney and worked with film makers and artists to create unique compositions for animation and film. With experience in the studio, on stage and designing sound, Richard is a well rounded artist and technician when it comes to anything Audio.

 

 

Gallery Lane Artist - Dave Mutnjakovic

Dave Mutnjakovic was born on the immaterial border that separates Canada from the United States, between the cities of Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. He is the son of a refugee from Eastern Europe and an Irish poet. This Frankensteinienne mix engendered a definitively original outsider. At age 13, Dave developed a chronic disease that burned his intestines and made him travel to the end of life. A few years later, the recession decimates the city of his childhood. Thus, he went away: an uncertain traveler, taking new paths.

It is at the end of the world, in Tasmania, that he finally reached his limit and decided to return to the source. From that defining moment to today, Dave creates with a frenzy close to personal therapy. Since then, he has accumulated more than 3,000 drawings, writings and visual animations. Which uniquely illustrate his personal, physical and mystical journey. In parallel with his creative process, he specializes in the development of artistic projects with at-risk youth and people overcoming physical and mental health problems.

Almost Iris is the creative world of Melbourne based artist Marta Oktaba.
Almost Iris is an add-on to life. An endless alternate moment that explores feelings and everyday life through creating. Learning to be unapologetic for all the emotions life brings our way and just living to the best of our abilities. 

Sound Designer: Mikael Tobias
Mikael Tobias is a British-Canadian musician, composer, producer and sound artist based in Copenhagen, DK. His work explores the liminal space between physical and emotional resonance, using live instrumentation along with meticulously treated electronics to create visceral and evocative soundscapes.

 

 

 
SMUG

Artist: SMUG
Known for his photo realism graffiti work, Smug, or Smug One is an Australian contemporary street artist of great skill residing in Glasgow. Using nothing but spray cans, he was able to gain mastery over a difficult task of making highly technical pieces that are somehow edgy, cheeky, and incredibly playful. In order to recreate absolute realism, artists usually have a lot of time on their hands, tiny and precise brushes, and a quiet work space where no one will disturb them.

Those are the three things that none of the graffiti writers have at their disposal, and yet, some of them, Smug being the perfect example, are able to create amazing large-scale wall pieces that look like they could be photographs. There is hardly a compliment of greater significance for any artist attempting to work in photo realism.

Artist, Animator and Sound Designer : Helena Papageorgiou
Helena Papageorgiou is an animator, art director, motion designer, and projection artist. Helena creates music videos, live visuals and uses augmented reality in her works to creative a narrative experience. These works incorporate various stylistic mediums from film, collage, motion design, 2D and 3D animation to convey a sense of visual immersion. From concept to screen, Helena tells stories through movement, image and illustration.

Helena has been working in Augmented Reality to extend the storytelling facet to include new and immersive media art. Completing an artist residency at the end of 2020 at the Museum of Brisbane also led onto a residency with Snap to become an official Lens creator and go on to work in conjunction with Google as part of Earth Day 2021. From the Gallery of NSW, Flinders Quarter Art walks in Melbourne and over to the NZ rooftops she has been developing her animations skills to broaden this communication vehicle.

Also curating events as part of Horizon Festival 2019 to work with established visual artists and transform their work into an interactive motion experiences using Augmented Reality. The works were presented across Nambour, collectively forming an interactive art trail using the EyeJack app.

Her projects include working with clients such Snap, Google, Apple, Nike, Qantas, EyeJack, Gallery of NSW, Warner Music, Sunshine Coast Council as well as live visuals created for festival events such as Splendour in the Grass, Laneway, Groovin’ the Moo, Commonwealth Games Festival 2018, Geelong After Dark and BIGSOUND.

Her music videos have been recognised both locally and internationally with award winning commendations.

Artist and Animator: Ckoe
Under the name Ckoe I work as a draftsman and animator, and I play with various media so that you can find my work, and myself, in different places. I have been making animations for De Boterhamshow for the item 'the film of the day' for a number of seasons. For Sesame Street I conceived and made the animation Worm Becomes… and made 40 episodes of it. In addition, I animated several verses for the program. I also regularly make some (dirty) animations for Studio Snugger.

In 2017 the cardboard books A round Rotterdam and A round Diergaarde Blijdorp were published. Books that I have illustrated and published myself. A tour of Rotterdam has become an indispensable part of the Rotterdam children's room and is now in its fourth printing.

In 2018 the fold-out book Dwars door Rotterdam was published. A round through The Hague was published in 2019 and together with NOOX City Kids we published the instruction booklet Dit is Amsterdam. In 2014, I wrote and drew Willem's De Ruil for publisher Zwijsen, and in 2017 Wat Doet Een Ridder Juist? for which I made the drawings. Previously I also made comics for Okki, Jippo and as my own work, among others, Uier, of which 7 books have been published. I also animated for BNN's Guinea Pigs and my first series of animations Itching Hands was picked up by Mtv.

Commissioned by Karst Grit Media and Imagine People, among others, I made various drawing animations for a wide range of organizations and companies, including the National Police, the Judiciary, Municipality of The Hague, Child Centers 2020 and Woonstad Rotterdam. Other clients range from De Pauluskerk/Dokters van de Wereld, Solar World Cinema and NTR Wisebits,

Sutu (aka Stuart Campbell) uses art and technology in new ways to tell stories. He has been commissioned by the likes of MarvelGoogle and Disney to create VR art for properties such as Doctor Strange and Ready Player One.  He has also created three VR documentaries; Inside Manus for SBS, Mind at War for Ryot Films and The Battle of Hamel for the Australian War Memorial.

He is also known for his interactive comics including NawlzNeomadModern Polaxis and These Memories Won’t Last. He holds a Honorary Doctorate of Digital Media from Central Queensland University, is a 2017 Sundance Fellow and is the co-founder of EyeJack an Augmented Reality company.
