The Waterfront Festival is an all-inclusive, all accessible community event.
Getting There
Public Transport - Bus no. 781, 784, 785, 788 all stop at Frankston Pier/ Nepean Highway which stops right outside the festival. The closest train station is Frankston Train Station which is 1km from the festival. Please visit www.ptv.vic.gov.au to plan your journey or for more information.
Parking - There are accessible carparks available at the Pier Promenade entry. These carparks can be accessed by the left hand lane coming south down Nepean Highway, please speak with the traffic controller on arrival and have your accessible parking sticker visible. There are limited accessible car spaces so get in quick before they’re gone.
Drop Off - If you are arriving via rideshare or taxi to the event and require a drop off location close to the festival, please use the slip lane adjacent to the Nepean Highway near the Rides and Amusements precinct or The Cheeky Squire.

Facilities
Toilets – There will be accessible toilets available throughout the event site.
Accessible toilets are located within:
- Lifestyle Zone Precinct
- Activity Arena Precinct
- Ventana Fiesta Precinct
- Permanent toilets are located near the Frankston Yacht Club, Frankston Visitor Information Centre and Wuxi Walk
The nearest Changing Places toilet is located at George Pentland Botanic Gardens.
Water – There will be several hydration stations located throughout the event. It’s recommended that you bring a water bottle to fill up and stay hydrated throughout the day.
Seating/ Shade - The Waterfront Festival is an outdoor event. Tables, chairs and umbrellas will be available throughout the event site, this includes existing permanent seating. There is limited shade within the event site to escape the heat and cool down.
Pathways - There are flat pathways with clear signage to enter the festival. The Garden Bar, Lifestyle Zone, Markets, Rides and Amusement precinct have suitable pathways for prams, wheelchairs, scooters, walking frames etc. The Activity Zone and Ventana precincts is on grass so has limited pathways, please also note the ground is not 100% flat throughout the precinct. There are minimal steps throughout the site.
Activities -There are plenty of accessible activities available at the festival! Visit the Lifestyle Zone, Activity Arena, pop into The Dreaming Space, and many more stalls throughout the event. There’s also an all accessible swing for persons in wheelchairs at the Waterfront playground – just head to the Frankston Visitor Information Centre between 10am and 4pm to get the MLAK key.
Chill Out Space
There are a lot of noises, lights and people who attend this festival. The Chill Out Space is a marquee located adjacent to Pier Promenade where you can go to experience an environment with lesser noise and activity. This safe, accessible and inclusive space is perfect for children and adults wanting to seek some calm at the festival.
The space will include bean bags, sensory play objects, located away from loud noises. It’s a safe environment that allows patrons to explore and interact without risk.
